In 2014, Wilsons fame exploded to the other side of the Atlantic in a more prominent way by announcing her participation on Showtimes The Affair as Alison Lockhart a troubled young woman who has a past of dark who falls for an unmarried man called Noah Solloway. The show that also stars Maura Tierney as well as Joshua Jackson was a hit with critics as well as viewers and won Wilson an award of a Golden Globe for Best Actress in an Television Series Drama in 2015. Wilson said to British Vogue that she enjoyed playing a character in both perspective. Noah imagines Alison's confident and unresponsible side of sexiness. She sees her own self as a different person. From the inside Alison isn't confident and wants to blend into the background. Wilson started working in films more recently. In 2016, she appeared in the horror flick I Am the Pretty Thing The House That Lives In as well as in the year 2017 she was the mysterious character PT Stella in the sci-fi rom com How to Talk to Girls at Parties. To add more horror films to her list of credits her upcoming film will feature an upcoming British film adaptation of The Little Stranger.
